As part of an overall effort to help others, we invite you to join the Human Trafficking Awareness Outreach Event sponsored by our club in partnership with the Zonta Club of Burbank Area and the SOAP Project and space donated by Temple Emanu El. While we address the immediate challenges in our region, this event offers an opportunity to take action on another critical issue affecting vulnerable individuals. As a volunteer, you’ll label soap bars and makeup remover wipes with the National Human Trafficking Hotline and help prepare materials for local hotels to distribute. We will also need people to distribute the items to hotels/motels and urgent cares. You’ll also learn how to identify and report signs of trafficking through a brief presentation. January is National Human Trafficking Prevention Month. Assemblymember Nick Schultz will join the event as a special guest speaker. Sign up today and help us make a difference! We will be gathering to celebrate the last day of Albert's year as District 5280's district governor! It's been an amazing year and we can't wait to toast our fearless leader! We're meeting at Morton's in Burbank for their happy hour. This is a mixer event, where you will be responsible for all your drinks/food ordered. There is no entry fee. Morton's does charge for parking in their structure, but I think with validation it should be about $10. Our guest of honor, Albert, will be there starting at 4 pm and staying until the party is over (or 9 pm, whichever is first!). Please RSVP using this Evite link, so I can give the restaurant notice about how many people to expect. |
