Monterey High School

April Weaver has worked for Burbank Unified School district for 24 years.  She started teaching English  at Luther Burbank Middle School focusing on students with learning disabilities.  After ten years she moved to a position at the district office and became the program specialist overseeing the special education program for secondary school.  In 2015 She moved over to Dolores Huerta Middle School, formally Jordan Middle School, as the Assistant Principal in charge of instruction.  April realized that her passion was to build strong relationships with students and families, so she moved over to Monterey High School as the Assistant Principal.  In this role she was able to help transform the school into a thriving support for Burbank students.  In 2022, she became the Principal of Monterey and is dedicated to helping every child earn their diploma.
