At our June 6, 2023 meeting, Cynthia Wagner presented the two James Woodburn scholarships to our selected recipients: Margaret Roberts and Nairi Zeytounzian. Both are planning to go on to study engineering and had a long list of accomplishments, in addition to their scholastic achievements. The winner of the Pete McGrath scholarship is Olivia Ries, who was unable to attend the meeting. Olivia had over 1,400 hours of community service, which is quite the feat!
We also had several students from our Burbank High Interact Club, accompanied by their president, Emma Audette. Emma made a video for our District Conference regarding all the projects their club participated in during the last school year. Their club has about 40+ members, and is growing! Hearing about all they've done during the year was quite impressive! Kudos to Emma and the club for being so active. We heard from most of the members about their plans for this summer.
A big thank you to Cynthia Wagner, for serving as our Youth Services chair and being the liaison for the Interact Club. Also, a thank you to Cynthia and the rest of the scholarship committee: Carole Collins and Stephanie Laing, for taking the time to review all the applications to select our scholarship recipients!
