Tequila's Burbank is hosting an event on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at 5:00 pm to honor Ross Benson for his dedication to Burbank. They are also hosting a toy drive which will go to Home Again Los Angeles. If you're interested in attending, please RSVP by calling (818) 516-9250.

 

Our very own Albert Hernandez is District 5280's District Governor this year. We will be celebrating the tradition of hosting his final district governor visit with the Burbank Sunrise Rotary Club on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 6 pm. Please join us for a fun night of celebration and fellowship!

 

Tickets are $50, which includes dinner and non-alcoholic beverages. Please purchase your ticket by Sunday, December 1, 2024.

At this week's meeting, we assembled the Hygiene Kits that are going to be delivered to the emancipated and displaced youth under the care of The Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission. Thanks to all who participated and for those that so graciously donated materials for these kits. Also a huge thanks to the Rotary District 5280 District Grant Program Coordinators. This project which includes the funding necessary to build the hygiene kits, as well as a luncheon which our members are going to serve to the youth in the program, was funded by a Rotary District Grant.

Retired Fire Captain Patrick Easley and his team at the Ventura Training Center are "heroes" for people every day – in all sorts of ways.

A new Rotary year has begun and this year's President is IT Consultant Gregory Madore.

On December 4th, the Rotary Club of Burbank, through our Foundation, made a $10,000 donation to the new building campaign for a much needed Urgent Care facility at Providence St. Joseph. This donation is part of a $25,000 financial commitment to the hospital.

On Thursday, November 3rd, 2018, we inducted Ms. Lianne Depino into our Rotary Family. Lianne is the Director of Club Services for the Boys & Girls Club of Burbank. Her sponsor, Shanna Warren, CEO of the B&G Club has been a member of our club for 9 years. We are thrilled to have Lianne apart of this group and know that she will be a great help to our mission of serving our community. Welcome, Lianne!

The Rotary Club of Burbank gathers once a month for our Rotary Reads program. Each month we will read to the students from different schools, donate books and provide a gift card for the teacher. We have had the pleasure of reading to 1st grade classrooms at Washington Elementary and Providencia Elementary. We love our partnership with Burbank Unified. 

On October 25th, 2018 Burbank Rotarians came together for fellowship and wine tasting all to raise funds for our new Interact Club at Burbank High School. The annual fellowship event took place at Vendome in Toluca Lake with nearly 30 Rotarians from our club and several guests from our Sunrise Rotary club. 

 

Special thanks to Dr. Greg Brooks for coordinating this successful event. Funds raised were forwarded to our Interact Club for seed money.

Welcoming a new member to our Rotary Family

Rotary Clubs in Burbank both Noon and Sunrise sponsor several Mini Libraries to be placed throughout our community to raise awareness of Rotary and the importance of reading. 

On June 26, 2018 our Rotary Club hosted their annual Installation and Open House. We welcomed Albert Hernandez as the 2018 - 2019 Club President.

Our Club President Renee Johnson leads the way as she supports the Club's Meals on Wheels delivery efforts.

The Burbank Noon Rotary is proud to support the art departments at Burbank and John Burroughs high schools. For the benefit of those who may not be familiar with this program, an invitation is made to the art department class at each of the high schools to participate in an art design related to their respective schools.

Burbank High chose their school mascot, the bulldog, as their subject. Burroughs chose scenes around the high school campus as their subject. The submitted entries are then judged by the Rotary Club members to determine the winning art design.
